Overseeding and aeration CT Residents Trust
Lawn aeration is just as important as mowing and watering in reducing soil compaction and should be done once or twice a year, depending on your needs. Our lawn aeration CT services ensure that the roots get all the water, nutrients, and air they need to thrive so you can have a luscious green yard your neighbors will be envious of. Without aeration, your lawn’s soil can become compacted, leaving your grass more susceptible to damage and poor growth patterns. Aeration in combination with our organic fertilizers can help restore the health of your soil for a greener lawn.
If your lawn is already looking a little sparse or has uneven growth, a lawn overseeding CT service in addition to regular aeration may be just what it needs to get it looking healthy again. Over time, grass can stop growing or only grow in specific areas making your lawn look patchy and uneven if not properly seeded and aerated regularly. Allow our expert lawn service Connecticut team to evaluate your lawn and soil to recommend the best grass types for your property and restore your lawn’s beauty with our aeration and overseeding services. We can recommend the perfect grass seed type and maintenance schedule to keep your lawn looking its best! Routine aeration has many benefits including:
- Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
- Enhanced uptake of water & fertilizer.
- Reduced water runoff and puddling.
- Reduced soil compaction.
- Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.

Maintaining Optimal Lawn Health
GreenTurf's lawn maintenance programs and lawn service in CT includes a schedule of services based upon your specific property needs and soil type to keep your lawn healthy and green.
Important steps to achieving a sustainable healthy lawn organically are aeration and overseeding.
AERATION
Over time, soil naturally becomes compacted, especially in areas where there is foot traffic and this prevents water, fertilizer and even air from reaching the roots of the grass.
Our core aeration CT solution removes small plugs of soil to prevent compacting. This action creates a natural exchange between air and soil without causing a disturbance to the lawn. Core aeration will allow nutrients and water to easily penetrate and green up a lawn quickly. This service is a must-have for anyone who is striving for total lawn health.
OVERSEEDING
In the early fall, overseeding is an important part of GreenTurf’s five-step process. After a long, hot (and often dry) summer, lawns can struggle to maintain fullness, greenness and health. Overseeding can bring a lawn back to life and give it what it needs to sustain its health through winter. Core aeration and overseeding CT services work in tandem to create and sustain a healthy lawn and GreenTurf’s five step process employs both. With proper annual care, a lawn overseeding is an effective treatment to create a thick lush bed of grass while filling in bare spots.
Together, aeration and overseeding can effectively repair damaged turf, thicken up thinning grass and make a tired, lifeless lawn look vibrant and healthy.

Frequently Asked QUestions
Do you have questions about aeration, overseeding or the services we offer? Check out our frequently asked questions below; if you can’t find what you’re looking for, please call us at 860-390-5262 or submit a form to the right.
Should I water before aeration?
We ask that you thoroughly water your soil the day before we arrive to moisten the ground allowing our aerator tines to be better able to penetrate and release longer plugs of soil.
What do I need to do to prep my lawn?
We ask that you flag any items in your yard such as obstacles, irrigation systems or invisible dog fences. It is best to flag all irrigation heads and valve boxes that are level with the ground and could be black or green. And we recommend flagging invisible fences approximately every 3 feet allowing us to see the general line/direction to avoid damaging the fence. Other items to be flagged include accent lights, sewers, or any other items that need to be navigated with caution.
Where can I get the flags?
We can provide you with the needed flags or there are inexpensive options at your local home improvement stores. We ask that you refrain from using paint as a marker due to reduced visibility for our crew.
When & how often should I water?
Watering the seeds immediately is best. The ground should be damp but not so wet there is excess water runoff.
How soon can I mow?
You can mow as soon after aeration as you wish, however, if you are overseeding as well, we recommend waiting until the seeds have been watered in.
How long will it take to see results?
Seeds will begin germinating in a week to 10 days. Overseeding in late august will have significant germination by end of fall with maturity the next spring.
What do I do about leaves in my yard?
Raking leaves can damage the delicate, shallow roots of seedlings. We recommend using a leaf blower or mulching with a lawn mower.
